With the donated items, we created a “Chill Out Room” for Frontline Staff

Earlier this spring, Bronson Battle Creek case manager, Mary Sanford, along with a group of “wonder women” won a fitness challenge hosted by local fitness center – Fit in 30. After receiving her winnings, Mary reached out to me to see if I had any ideas of donations needed to help support our hospital teams. I told her about the new respite area that nursing leadership was working on. She immediately stepped up and said she would donate her winnings to help make the space special with snacks, water and other comfort items.

The new “Chill Out Room” is a quiet space where frontline staff can take a quick break. They are able to rest their bodies and minds, gather their thoughts and refuel as needed throughout their shifts.

This is an incredibly challenging time for everyone in our community, especially the frontline/essential workers. We truly appreciate Mary for making this kind gesture, and we hope it will provide a new opportunity for our staff to refocus, so they can continue to provide the best care possible for our community!
