We have a good presence in the community. I love being a part of that.

I’ve been a nurse at Bronson Battle Creek for 26 years and have worked in several departments. In 2013 I joined the patient safety and quality department.

I love the people and the teamwork, and that everyone’s main focus is patient safety. We always want to do the right thing for the patient, and the staff truly cares. I appreciate that not only do we encourage staff to speak up if they have a concern, but we recognize it and we award it. We really have a culture that is open and transparent, where we want to learn from each other.

I grew up in Calhoun County and I think it’s a tight knit community. The community pulls together in times of trouble and I think the community counts on us to be the first people they see when they need quality care. We have a good presence in the community. I love being a part of that.
