How blessed we were at Mattawan Consolidated School to have this opportunity to support and celebrate our medical professionals by donating personal protective equipment (PPE) from our classrooms. A couple of staff members had reached out to me to ask if it was okay to donate these PPE supplies to our area hospitals. Well, this is exactly what we want to model for our students… to have a giving, servant heart. I sent out an email over the weekend to our building administration and by the end of the day on Sunday, we had over 200 teachers and staff open their doors and donate whatever they had. Even our transportation, custodial, food service and Central Office donated. We sent five very full vehicles to Bronson and Borgess. Our Early Elementary Principal filled her Subaru so full she was concerned she would not fit in to drive! I have attached three of the pictures.

To help at this time of uncertainty allowed a sense of community and light our staff needed. I can tell you it did so much for our staff to be able to help in this way. We are so very grateful to each one of you for giving so unselfishly day after day. We thank you.

Be well.
