Vivian Burch, Employee

Elizabeth Flagg recently celebrated her one-year service anniversary as a Bronson employee!   Elizabeth works in the BHG Executive Office as an on-call Clerk Typist.  She came to us as an intern through the “Project SEARCH” program and upon completing her internship in the Executive Office, we knew she had some exceptional skills and would make a wonderful employee!

Initially, our intent was to have Elizabeth learn how to sort the daily mail delivery for the Bronson Upjohn Building. She mastered that task very quickly and asked for more work!  As part of standard work, a Daily Checklist was developed for Elizabeth which includes not only sorting the mail but many other office duties such as filling the copy machines and printers with paper, stocking and monitoring office supplies, making copies and meeting packets, shredding, and using the computer for light typing and label projects.  She “owns” her Daily Checklist and it has become beneficial in keeping her on task.  A Project Request Slip was also developed to give her an opportunity to work with the Executive Assistants or Bronson Health Foundation staff members on special projects under their guidance, mentorship and direction.  She loves the different tasks and new challenges!  Elizabeth also participates in our Weekly Huddles and has even co-led a Huddle!

When starting in our department, Elizabeth was very shy and reserved. We have seen significant growth over the past year and she has become a valuable asset to the department.  She is always professional, respectful and treats everyone with courtesy and kindness.  Her hugs and smiles bring happiness and sunshine into our busy office.  Elizabeth is very dedicated to her job and follows her Daily Checklist to keep the office running smoothly.  She is a great addition to the BHG Support Staff Team!

We are truly grateful to the Project SEARCH program for all they do to develop and help these young adults to become successful in the workplace!
