Through adversity, you have made a difference.
As we celebrate Nurses Week (May 9th through May 13th), I want to take a moment to reflect on the amazing work that our nurses have done to care for their patients and the difference they have made during some of the most difficult and challenging times.
As one Bronson LakeView Hospital patient stated “You made my husband and I feel cared for, important, safe, seen and heard” or the Bronson South Haven Hospital patient who said “Staff was amazing, friendly, and made me feel better about the bad situation I was in”. These are just two of the many wonderful comments I have received lately, and one of the reasons BLH was presented with the Paw Paw Area Chamber of Commerce Quiet Heroes Award and BSH received the Bobby Walker Outstanding Leadership Award.
The Quiet Heroes Award spoke to BLH’s role as “guardians of hope” in keeping patients, families and the community safe. The Outstanding Leadership Award honored all the front line staff for providing care to the community throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. Both awards recognized frontline healthcare workers’ efforts in providing care to the community over the past two years. COVID-19 posed many challenges of which our teams persevered and showed ingenuity and compassion.
I am incredibly proud of our amazing teams and the kindness they demonstrate not only to our patients, but to their colleagues.
Through adversity, our teams have made a difference!
