Today we recognize our staff in Radiation Oncology and Patient Safety and Quality!

Jim McKernan, Bronson Employee

Today we recognize our staff in Radiation Oncology and Patient Safety and Quality for teamwork, problem solving, and commitment to exceptional care experiences.

Over the past few months, the team developed, reviewed and submitted materials seeking accreditation from the American Society for Radiation Oncology (ASTRO).   More than one-thousand pages of documents were required to highlight our cancer program, policies, technology, personnel, and capabilities.  While preparation for this survey can take well over 6 months to complete, the team worked many extra hours to complete the documentation in less than half that time while also being involved with several other major projects.  Successful scoring of our application and a site visit  are still ahead . . . but ASTRO accreditation would be a major achievement:  BBCs Cancer Care Center would join the University of Michigan as the only two ASTRO accredited radiation programs in the state.

Thanks to Heather West, Mary Conlogue, Rob Sieffert, Dr. Randy Mudge, and the whole Radiation Oncology team for their commitment to exceptional care for our cancer patients.  And thanks to staff across Bronson who consistently work to ‘raise the bar’ for our patients and families at BBC.
