They walk you through everything. They are so willing to help.

Nakeia Burnett, mom of Bronson Children's Hospital patient

Jurni was just five years old when she was diagnosed with a rare form of kidney cancer. “I was in shock,” says Jurni’s mom, Nakeia Burnett. “I couldn’t breathe, I couldn’t think. The world was just still.” The team of experts from Bronson Children’s Hospital and Pediatric Hematology and Oncology were by the family’s side every step of the way. “They walk you through everything,” says Nakeia. “If you have questions, they are so willing to help. They make it ok.”

Following surgery and chemotherapy, Jurni’s cancer is now in remission. “She is just great. She is just an average 6-year-old. If you didn’t see her hair loss or scar, you wouldn’t know what she’d been through.”
