They really must have a big heart

Jane Roush, Patient

Jane Roush keeps a busy calendar with playing cards, dominoes and trips out to dinner. But, a lung cancer diagnosis this summer slowed her down. The 12-week radiation treatment required Jane to make daily trips from her home in Coldwater to the Battle Creek Cancer Care Center. Her granddaughter drove some days, other times Jane counted on volunteer drivers, funded through the Bronson Health Foundation’s Cancer Care Fund. “They really cared and really knew you,” Jane says of the drivers. “It got to where the trip didn’t seem long at all. They just eased your mind.” She’s thankful to all the donors who made sure she had a way to get to her treatments, so she can now spend time on fun outings instead. “They really must have a big heart.”
