The doctor told my daughter jokes to calm her down and make her laugh

My 6-year-old daughter and I visited the ER after she had an accident and we were afraid she had broken her thumb. I am so grateful and appreciative to everyone we encountered that evening. The individuals working registration and triage were very kind and compassionate. I was told there could be over a four-hour wait and was pleasantly surprised that x-rays were scheduled right away so that they would be ready when the doctor was ready for us. The bedside manner of the doctor and nurses was top-notch! The doctor told my daughter jokes to calm her down and make her laugh, and the slushie from the nurse was just what she needed to feel better. Both the x-ray tech and doctor also showed her the images of her thumb, which was thankfully not broken! Heaven forbid she have another injury; I know she is not going to be afraid to visit the ER again.
