When we deliver a Down syndrome diagnosis to our expectant patients, it can be overwhelming news for them to hear. At Bronson Maternal Fetal Medicine, it’s helpful for us to be able to provide the book titled “Diagnosis to Delivery – A pregnant mother’s guide to Down Syndrome” to help our patients take in the news and know what to expect. The book touches on many topics including what additional tests and specialists might be needed; how to share the news with your family; how to talk to your partner about what you are both going through; and what to expect during your baby’s first year of life.
The books allow our patients time to read and process at their own pace. We know they can’t take in everything in one doctor’s appointment. So, we are grateful to be able to provide this important resource to them, and thankful to the donors to Bronson Health Foundation who make it possible.
