Monica is a registered nurse at Bronson Methodist Hospital. During her shift, her patient was undergoing an infusion of a new medication. As she was reviewing information about the medication, she discovered an error in the medication administration record.

Monica immediately contacted the pharmacy to confirm that her finding was correct. She then followed the required safety protocols for working with the medication.

Thanks to Monica’s attention to detail, the patient received safe and effective care. Because she spoke up, new processes were developed to ensure vital medication information is communicated clearly.
