Today we recognize Mike Fahndrich and Stewart Black from our plant operations team for creative problem solving and efforts to control cost.

Not long ago, our dietary department had four food carts with badly damaged wheel assemblies. In many hospitals – the carts might simply be thrown away. Mike and Stu teamed up to design a new wheel set-up, eliminating the need for replacement and saving us several thousand dollars. If that weren’t enough, they were able to customize the wheels in a way that greatly reduced the noise generated by the cart – a nice win for our efforts to improve ‘Quiet at Night’ scores.
