Thank you Maddy for everything you do

My 6-year-old son had an accident while playing with friends and was in the Emergency Department at Bronson Methodist Hospital about the receive a staple to repair a head injury. He was very scared and nervous about the procedure and there were many tears. That is until Maddy, a Child Life Specialist, stepped into his room. She spoke directly to him and treated him with such kindness. She asked him a few questions to build trust and then she grabbed a couple of Look and Find books for him to look at while the physician put in the staple. My kiddo stopped crying as soon as she sat down with him, and he handled the staple like a champ! I appreciate Bronson for having such great resources – even on a Sunday night. I am thankful for the resident physician calling Child Life. Most of all, we are so grateful to Maddy. She did an amazing job with my son. Thank you Maddy for everything you do! It makes a tremendous difference!
