Thank you for creating the incredible community of care I experienced this week
My week took an odd turn when I injured my back and found myself in Bronson’s emergency department last week. It was a busy place, as hospitals are. My ED wait time to be seen was several hours and once I was admitted there was another multiple hour wait for the next bed to open up in a unit other than the emergency department. This is the state of hospitals these days and it tells you how overworked the staff must be. And yet, over the course of my three day stay, not a single tech, aid, nurse or doctor was anything less than wonderful to me. No one was the least bit impatient, rushed, dismissive, or impersonal despite the unimaginable demand on their time and resources. Bronson’s healthcare workers are absolutely amazing and somehow they continue to be amazing despite the hostility and thoughtlessness coming at them these past two years in particular. I am in awe and so grateful. Thank you to Bronson Hospital in Kalamazoo, the Emergency Department and the Admissions Unit for creating the incredible community of care I experienced this week.
