Thank you Bronson, for playing a big part in giving me these past 3 years.

Mary Mearna, Patient

I was diagnosed with Stage 4 Mantle Cell Lymphoma in Jan. 2008. The course of chemotherapy I would need – VCR-CVAD- would be administered over 72 hours. I was admitted to Bronson’s 4 West chemotherapy unit every 21 days from Jan. through May for 4 to 5 days of chemo. Being stage 4 cancer, this was a very scary time for my husband and I. But the caring and kindness of everyone at Bronson, we got through it so much easier. From the aid who got me situated in my room on my first visit, the nurse who sat with me after he started my first rituxan IV to make sure I didn’t have a bad reaction, the nurse who had to inform me that my bone marrow biopsy had come back positive, and the chaplain she sent in to talk to us, because she knew the news was upsetting, the food service personnel, the young man from house keeping who was praying for me, the numerous nurses and aids who took care of me – and were always so good about washing their hands when they came into my room – I can’t tell you how much their TLC meant to us. I am now in remission for 3 years and 3 months. I said back then, and I will say it again – you guys Rock! Thank you Bronson, for playing a big part in giving me these past 3 years. And to everyone in outpatient testing, where I still go for my CT scans – thank you, too.
