Talk about longevity!

Joshua Ruhrup, Manager of Nursing

On February 9, Val retired from Bronson after a 43-year career in nursing. She started her path in healthcare by graduating from the Kalamazoo Valley Community College School of Nursing. Val worked on multiple units while at Bronson, starting as a licensed practitioner nurse (LPN) in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. She then moved to the Ortho/Neurology Unit as a Registered Nurse (RN), where she wore many hats including preceptor, relief charge nurse, unit coordinator and nurse manager. Val continued her education, earning her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from Western Michigan University in 2008. She then moved to the Neurovascular Unit, where she spent the last 15 years of her career.

I appreciate the steady leadership Val has provided as Neurovascular Unit Coordinator! Our team has experienced tremendous growth during her time here!
