In my 25 plus years of medical practice, I’ve had the privilege of working closely with hundreds of medical assistants. Susana Gasca not only stands out, she is in a field all her own. She wins the confidence of her patients with her calm, caring manner. She connects with each and every patient, making them feel special and “cared for”, without ever being overly friendly or gossipy. She is able to share the unique aspects of a patient’s social situation with the provider in a professional, non-judgemental way. She is smart and curious about details. She has an amazing way of anticipating the needs of patients and the provider. If she does not know about a resource or procedure, she quietly researches and follows up. I know I’m going to have a great day when she is assigned to work with me!
