Sending my love and support to each of you
To Danielle and her Bronson Family,
I am not standing on the front lines as you are each and every day at work. I can’t begin to imagine all that you are seeing, navigating, tackling and feeling.
While I am not walking in your shoes, I do know what it’s like to do HARD things. I know what it feels like to be thrown into a storm, without warning or being able to fully prepare, or knowing when or how it will end. I know what it is to be brave, even when you’re overcome by fear. To be courageous and keep going, even when you don’t think you can.
This is you. Each of you are doing hard things.
I wish you didn’t have to be brave in this way. I wish you didn’t have to sacrifice in this way. I wish you had been given a more pleasant or easier way to show your strength and courage. I wish you weren’t having to straddle your two worlds – yourself and your loved ones…and your role and duty as a nurse. I wish this wasn’t what our nation was facing. I wish you didn’t have to walk in fear at work. I wish this wasn’t our world’s reality and your reality as you show up, and fight this for us.
I see you, each of you.
I see your fear.
I see your strength.
I see your commitment.
I see your dedication.
I see your fight.
I see your courage.
I see your sacrifice.
You are so, so, so, BRAVE.
Sending my love and support to each of you. Thank you doesn’t even touch the surface.
