Sara was truly Bronson Positivity in action

On June 24, 2021 I came to Bronson Battle Creek for a routine mammogram, that evening I received an email to review MyChart and much to my dismay, there was a note from the radiologist that I needed to return to Bronson for additional mammogram panels due to calcifications noticed on the first panels. Due to COVID, I had skipped getting my mammogram for the past two years and this request for additional panels had me extremely worried. I contacted Bronson scheduling the next morning to make an appointment, they gave me the number for the Breast Center technicians and they were extremely customer focused as they understood my urgency and guided me toward an appointment that afternoon at the main Bronson campus where the radiologist would read the panel immediately following my appointment and give me results. When I arrived for my appointment the technologist assigned to me was Sara M. I can’t begin to express how much it meant to me that Sara was caring, compassionate, patient and extremely knowledgeable. Sara patiently answered all of my questions and concerns but more importantly she truly listened to me when I told her that I had almost this identical situation happen at Bronson in 2014. Sara made extra effort to retrieve the 2014 mammogram and then worked diligently to make sure the panels she took of my breast would clearly show the calcifications so the radiologist could make an accurate comparison. Sara was extremely professional and at the same time calmed my fears and walked me through each panel and actually had me laughing. As a former Bronson employee, I understand the high standard that Bronson sets for positivity and the best care, in the right place at the right time and I would like to say that Sara was truly Bronson Positivity in action. I am thankful to say when the radiologist met with me, she also confirmed that due to the great work that Sara did when taking the additional panels it was clear that my mammogram was completely normal and I did not need to return until next year. I just want to recognize Sara M. for going above and beyond and making sure I had a great Bronson experience.
