Sadie was a true blessing at a time when hope was getting lost

Four nurses from Bronson Methodist Hospital recently received the DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses. The award is given out on a quarterly basis and celebrates nurses who go above-and-beyond to provide an exceptional healthcare experience for their patients and the family members of patients.

Sadie, one of the 2019 Q1 recipients, was recognized by a former patient who shares:

During my child’s critical and terminal admit to the general medical unit last year, Sadie, was instrumental to their emotional and physical health. Being that they were roughly the same age, Sadie treated my child like a person, and not just another cancer patient. It turned out that they knew several people in common. Sadie helped my child feel like a young adult and not someone who was dying from cancer. Sadie even switched shifts so she could continue to provide care for my child, which was so appreciated. She helped comfort me when I was in disbelief that my child was dying, but gave me strength & confidence that I could care for him/her at home. Sadie was a true blessing at a time when hope was getting lost. We will NEVER forget her confidence and caring attitude throughout the hospital stay.
