Nothing is more important than saving lives.
Charles and Lynn Zhang at the Kellogg Global Hub in Evanston, Illinois, May 30, 2017.
As Charles and Lynn Zhang saw the COVID-19 pandemic unfold across the country, they approached Bronson with an offer to help. “We saw that there was a national shortage of ventilators and other equipment,” says Lynn. “We knew that because we aren’t a big city, southwest Michigan wouldn’t be a priority. But our community is a priority for us. We are very lucky to have Bronson, the only locally owned healthcare system in our area, along with its dedicated team of healthcare workers.”
The Zhangs made a generous gift of $100,000 to allow Bronson to support the purchase of additional ventilators in case of a surge.
“Nothing is more important than saving lives,” say the Zhangs. “We know it’s important to support Bronson. It is our honor to be able to provide this financial support. We don’t know what is ahead — so the strength of our local hospital is more important than ever. Our hospital is more important than ever. Our contribution is a drop in the bucket. But if every business and every community member can help if they are able, our efforts can guide us through these difficult times.”
