My family is grateful and appreciative of everyone at Bronson for helping our husband, father, and Papa come back home to us.

On July 5, 2016 I arrived home from work to find my husband, Ray sitting on our back patio. When I asked him how his day was, he replied he wasn’t feeling well. Upon further questioning Ray said he was having discomfort in his chest. He blamed it on the Cinnamon rolls we purchased in Shipshewana on the 4th. Ray had taken 2 tums, but had no relief. After dinner, Ray became even more uncomfortable and we decided to drive to Marshall Oaklawn to get checked out. After arriving an EKG was performed and within 10 minutes Ray was being transported to Bronson Kalamazoo. From the moment Ray was inside of Bronson’s doors his care was above exceptional. Ray’s nurses, Doctors, and every other health care provider went above and beyond to keep us informed, advised, and comfortable. Ray had a heart attack July 5th, Cauterization on July 6th, and double bypass July 8th, 2016. Ray’s bypass was not due to blockages, but aneurysms in his arteries, caused by a childhood illness. Dr. Keller, and Dr. DeLucia were amazing, in that they determined the cause and went to work to correct it! Dr. DeLucia is a gifted surgeon, who put my husband first and foremost. The nurses in the Cardiac Intensive Care are awesome! The transporter Joe was awesome! The entire healthcare “team” were some of the most amazing people we have ever came into contact with. My family is grateful and appreciative of everyone at Bronson for helping our husband, father, and Papa come back home to us. Thank you Dr. DeLucia for saving my 50 year old, active husband, and for giving us many more chances to make memories together.
