She remembers patients that have been in before, and always makes them smile

The operating room (like everywhere) has recently had a lot of turnover. This particularly impacted our vascular team. Vascular is one of the more complex specialties in the OR and require the use of a lot of equipment that many staff members are unfamiliar and/or uncomfortable with. In order to properly prepare the staff, new faces come into room 21 (the vascular OR) in order to be trained. Many of these staff members are not excited about this. Lori, however, had a positive attitude and now works in room 21 every day and spends her days helping and training these new people. She is knowledgeable and kind, and helps at every step of the case. When she is off, the room runs less smoothly and is she is missed.  She remembers patients that have been in before, and always makes them smile.  I can’t think of anyone who deserves this award more.

Lori Baker is a radiology tech in the Bronson Methodist Hospital surgery department. She is the recipient of the 2022 Sunshine Award, which is given each year to team members who help our clinical staff provide exceptional care for patients and families.
