Just a few positive words can make all the difference

Rhea White, Employee

My first exposure to lab work and phlebotomy was a job shadow while I was still in high school. It was so interesting to me that I turned my job shadow into a job training as part of a co-op program with what is now the Bronson Battle Creek lab. It has been 10 years and I still love the work I do.

One of the greatest aspects of a laboratory career is the opportunity to help provide information to individuals who are dealing with health issues. We are able to shed light on so many health issues, providing some of the crucial data that provides need to both diagnose and treat their patients.

I love that I am able to help people. From giving answers to providing a little comfort with a friendly smile or a few positive words, I realize that I have the ability to turn a person’s concern and uncertainty into a friendly encounter… maybe the only one they’ll have that day! It’s really all about paying it forward. I feel like Bronson is always going the extra mile for their employees so that we are better able to go the extra mile for the patients.
