It made such a difference in my day

Staci McKee, Patient

I recently needed outpatient surgery. As expected, I was nervous about the procedure and the inevitable IV’s in pre-op. Of all the times I’ve needed IV’s in the past, no one had ever asked if I wished to have my IV site numbed prior to inserting the IV. Pati S. was on duty in pre-op the day of my procedure and asked that very question. I allowed her to numb both hands (as I needed 2 IV’s) and the IV’s were inserted completely pain free. This brought my anxiety level down considerably before the actual procedure. I understand it took a few extra moments for her to offer and do such a thing, but it made such a difference in my day. Thank you Pati, for that and the other wonderful care provided to me that day.
