I’m so grateful to work in an environment where we can support each other.

Amy Mackey, Employee

Years ago in the emergency department (ED) at Bronson Methodist Hospital, I helped a large extended family manage the sudden death of multiple children. It was such devastation. I didn’t think I would ever feel normal again. When I attended a CISM debriefing, I could see my coworkers felt the same way. I didn’t realize until several weeks after the debriefing that I was no longer dwelling on that experience. I was grateful that I could continue to do my work in the ED.  More recently, I was debriefed after a community tragedy that I was involved with in the ED. I cried during the entire debriefing. I guess I needed to be there! I’m so grateful to work in an environment where we can support each other.
