I know that I have more life left to live for me. I have many more marathons that I need to run
With a bright smile, Larry Parkison walks into the Bronson Cancer Center—Battle Creek with confidence. He arrived for his twenty-first radiation treatment to combat vocal cord cancer, and greets the staff he has come to know well.
“I can only say how blessed we in this community are to have a cancer center that offers what I have experienced. The people are just wonderful,” he says.
Larry, who was born raised in Union City, is a retired blue-collar worker with a passion for exercise. He has completed three marathons and ridden his bike across Michigan at least three times. He is supported and loved by his wife of 55 years and three adult daughters.
“This cancer diagnosis was the first time that I had any serious ailment, so the news was a bit of a shock. But with the support of my family, the service here in Battle Creek and the wonderful people, I have truly had a pleasant experience,” Larry laughs. “I know that sounds crazy because I have cancer, but it’s actually true!”
Larry is committed to battling his cancer with Positivity and love surrounding him. “I have had a wonderful life. I have a great wife, children, and grandchildren. But I know that I have more life left to live for me. I have many more marathons that I need to run, and many more miles I have to go on my bike!”
