I knew it was the BEST place to treat his wounds

On Thanksgiving day evening this year, my dad fell down a steep escalator at Churchill Downs in Louisville, Kentucky. He suffered severe deep tissue injuries to both of his lower legs. As I was providing his first aid at the scene, I knew then that we were going to be dealing with wound care for a long time.  I knew right then that I would want his PCP to give us a referral to the Wound Clinic. Dad had an injury in 2016 which required the Wound Clinic’s expertise help so I knew it was the BEST place to treat his wounds. I cannot say enough amazing things about the phenomenal staff at the clinic.  I will do my best to try and remember all of the names of the FANTASTIC nurses that helped us through our healing journey. Beth, NP…SO KNOWLEDGEABLE, friendly and engaging. Chris our RN case manager, Leilani, Karley, Ann also had the best interpersonal skills.  It was FUN going to the appointments. They were SO ENGAGED with dad and I.  We spent 6 weeks under their watchful eye.  They ensured we had all of the supplies we needed, and always encouraged us to call with questions. I was amazed at the advancements in wound care that they taught us. They are up to date on the latest and greatest ways to care for various wounds. I am forever grateful for their education and support. Shoot, I feel like I could work their now!! 🙂 So from the bottom of dad’s and my heart.. we thank you for making this horrific experience manageable and ultimately successful.
