I had no permanent heart damage as a result of the quick and accurate actions taken by the South Haven emergency staff

Dave Sonnenberg, Patient

My name is Dave Sonnenberg, and I live in South Haven, MI.  I wish to share my positive experience at Bronson South Haven Hospital on June 19, 2017.  I cannot say enough good things about the quick, accurate diagnosis, and treatment provided to me, when unbeknown to me, I was having a heart attack.

I arrived at the emergency room expressing concerns over what I thought was extreme indigestion and heart burn.  The staff of RN Amanda, RN Sarah, and Dr Achramowicz quickly began an EKG in what seem to be less than two minutes, and had correctly diagnosed an ongoing heart attack.  They immediately started clot buster meds, blood thinner, and nitro.  Ultimately I was transported via helicopter to Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo where Dr. Wunderly performed a heart catheterization  and  inserted a stent.  Dr. Wunderly reported that I had no permanent heart damage, although 99% blockage, as a result of the quick and accurate actions taken by the South Haven emergency staff.

I am extremely grateful for my local Bronson South Haven Hospital.  I say thank you to Amanda, Sarah, and Dr. Achramowicz for their outstanding diagnosis & service! I feel better today, then I did five years ago.  I suspect I would not be able to report this same wonderful outcome, had they not done their job as well as they did. Thank You South Haven Bronson Staff!
