I chose to protect my child

This is my daughter Addison (Addy) and she received her first dose of the Pfizer Covid vaccine today. My husband and I are both relieved to finally be able to get her vaccinated. We chose to get Addy vaccinated because we can’t risk her getting sick. She may be only 2.5 years old but she has had 8 surgeries and spent over 80 days in the hospital including 39 days in the NICU. She was 6 weeks early and developed hydrocephalus. She has endured multiple vp shunt surgeries and 2 craniosynostosis surgeries. She even had Covid in April of 2022. We feared it would lead to another hospitalization but fortunately she only had mild flu like symptoms. I chose to protect my child as best I can because she deserves to feel safe. I feel this vaccine is just as important and safe as other childhood immunizations.
