I am very excited about the next steps on my way to better sleep and a better quality of life
For the past 4 or so years, I’ve noticed a change. I wasn’t sleeping as well. Sure, I’ve always been a loud snorer, but that was more of a problem for the person sleeping next to me. I was waking up 2-4 times a night. My energy level was very low and I was sleepy all day. “Obviously, it’s because I am getting old,” I thought. My irritability was at an all-time high. As far as my mood swings, well just ask my family how that went.
My better half told me that I had the symptoms of sleep apnea. She told me about the many times she rolled me on my side because I had stop breathing. That was scary to hear. I researched sleep apnea and I indeed had the symptoms. After speaking with my primary care doctor, I made an appointment with Bronson Sleep Health.
On the day of my appointment, I didn’t know what to expect. Will I have to do a sleep study? Will people watch me sleep? As soon as I walked through the door, my mind was totally at ease. I was greeted with warm smiles and helpful direction. I was checked in quickly and met with the doctor soon after. I left my visit in great spirits. Although my story is “to be continued,” I am very excited about the next steps on my way to better sleep and a better quality of life.
