He has a pure heart of gold, and loves giving back

Kendra Cook, Donor

My younger brother, now 26 years old, is a cancer survivor. He was diagnosed with a stage 4 Medulloblastoma at the age of 5 and was treated primarily at UofM but also had some visits at Bronson. Every year, he holds a toy drive to give back to the kids that are still in the hospital during the holidays. He remembers how it felt to be in the hospital over the holidays and wants to do as much as he can to bring a smile to someone’s face. He raised $920 in cash and then received additional toy donations. Our family runs a nonprofit organization to support childhood cancer and as a board, we decided to match his donation. Overall, we were able to purchase close to $2,000 worth of toys along with the additional toy donations that were provided. He has a pure heart of gold and loves giving back. We truly hope the donation will benefit as many kids as possible during their very difficult stays or outpatient visits.
