Having hip replacement surgery at Bronson Battle Creek turned out to be one of the best decisions I’ve ever made.

Richard Ziolkowski-Pemberton, Patient

I’m currently a new patient of the Bronson Family. My story goes like this I move to Marshall Michigan about five years ago from the Ann Arbor area. This past year I encountered problems with my hip and thought it was just a little of arthritis so I went to see an orthopedic doctor and found out that I needed a total hip replacement. I was in shock at first I’m 58 year old white male and I did not feel that it was something that was necessary at the time. I decided to go ahead with it even though I had never been in a hospital or had a surgery.

I went to Bronson Battle Creek Hospital I chose them because I felt that I could be close to home and the surgeon that I dealt with and felt comfortable with works with that hospital. I could have gone to st. Joe’s in Ypsilanti or I could have gone to U of M in Ann Arbor but I decided to stay close to home and went to Battle Creek. Yes I had heard some horror stories about Battle Creek Hospital years past but I just ignored them and went ahead. I am so glad that I made this decision it turned out to be one of the best decisions I’ve ever made.

The staff was phenomenal from the surgical unit pre-op post op and in my room the night of the surgery. The nursing staff on the floor that I was on was absolutely fantastic they help me get out of bed I felt like I was bothering them every time I would call they were there immediately and I would apologize for it and they told me that was their job and they were happy to do it. I’ve never met such medical staff who felt that their job was the number one priority as these people did.

I would highly recommend Bronson battle creek hospital to everyone! I would like to personally thank them for the outstanding job they did for me.
