Everyone has been so kind, compassionate and knowledgeable

Tiffany Todd, mom of Bronson Children's Hospital patient

Payton was born on March 1st, 2017, at just 23 weeks gestation. She was 1 pound, 4 ounces. She spent a lot of time in the NICU, and has been a patient at Bronson Children’s Hospital 3 times since then.

With each stay at the Children’s Hospital, everyone has been so kind, compassionate, knowledgeable and understanding. The doctors actually listen to the parents. The treatment is a collaborative effort between the expertise of the staff and the expertise of the parents with the child.

I feel very fortunate that we are 20 minutes from such a great hospital. I know I can bring her here for any issue and it’ll be addressed. It’s nice that we don’t have to be far from our home in Otsego.

Most nurses go above and beyond what is required to make sure we are all comfortable. They are like a second family. It’s very comforting. When we walk through the doors – it doesn’t matter if it’s a routine appointment or an overnight stay – we can’t walk down the hall without someone recognizing us. Even when you leave here, it’s nice to know we are not forgotten.

The child life services, art and music therapy are great. They make sure the child is engaged. There are plenty of books and activities. I want to give a big thank you to those who have donated to these services. It is wonderful knowing that if we have to step out of the room, one of the specialists has no problem keeping the kids occupied. The funds are definitely being put to good use. I also really appreciate the groups that volunteer to make and donate all of the blankets. It’s just one more piece to make it feel like home rather than a hospital. Every blanket we take home has a memory of the stay.
