Congratulations to Stu Black for his talents, ingenuity, and dedication to creative problem solving
Today we recognize Stuart Black, our lead plant engineer, for being a problem solver, being accountable, and thinking creatively.
Recently, we were facing an extended downtime with a sterile processing cart washer. This impacts safety and potentially limits our ability to perform surgeries. Estimated time for a new part from the manufacturer was two weeks.
Stu looked at the problem and recommended that we attempt to build a new part. Within a few hours, he visited a local steel supplier and selected a piece of brass. He went to work on our lathe, drill press and band saw in the Energy Center and fabricated a new part. By afternoon he had the part installed and the cart washer back in operation. Two weeks of downtown avoided. Patient safety protected. Important surgeries proceeding.
Congratulations to Stu Black for his talents, ingenuity, and dedication to creative problem solving. And thanks to staff across Bronson who use their creative skills to serve our patients and families.
