As little of a gesture this may seem to some, it was a huge help and relief.

Amanda Engle, Patient

I’m walking down the hall with my nephew who is kicking and screaming because I took him away from his parents. My sister has asked me to do so while she gives birth to my new nephew. I already am anxious and am attempting to deal with my nephew the best I can. I make my way to the waiting room and am approached by Barbara (I believe an OB nurse) She comes up and offers not only support but returns to bring my nephew apple juice, crayons, and coloring pages. As little of a gesture this may seem to some, it was a huge help and relief. I hope employees like Barbara who have a great compassion for others, even not their patients, should be recognized. She was absolutely wonderful.
