April demonstrated patience, care and kindness
My 95 year old father was admitted into Bronson South Haven Hospital for six days. For most of the time, April Filbrandt was our primary nurse and she went above and beyond in her approach to care for both my father and myself.
My dad was very weak and hard of hearing, and April demonstrated patience, care and kindness with all of her interactions with him. She never spoke over him or ignored him because of his hearing limitations, but instead interacted with him to make sure he was comfortable and understood any care she was providing. She was phenomenal in caring for his wounds and ensuring he was comfortable and pain-free.
She willingly spent time with me, his daughter, on a daily basis to ensure that I understood the next steps of my father’s care, understood lab results and recommended treatments, and just generally provided comfort to me during this difficult time for my father.
April went above and beyond in the quality and compassion for both me and my father. We could not be more grateful for the care she provided and want to acknowledge the incredible, professional, and supportive care she gave.
