After 14 years, I’m still happy I chose to work at Bronson

Neurosciences Nurse Navigator Masako Winchester, RN, BSN

When I left the military and moved to Kalamazoo, I received job offers from more than one emergency room in the area. I chose Bronson because everyone was so friendly and warm.

Fourteen years later, I am now a nurse navigator for patients who have brain or spine surgery at Bronson Methodist Hospital. No day is ever the same. I love being able to use my problem-solving skills to remove barriers and improve the quality of care for patients. I feel appreciated by not only by my patients, but also my coworkers, physicians and leaders. Everywhere I go, staff are always smiling and helpful.

I’m proud to work at Bronson because we have a great reputation—not just as a healthcare provider, but also for going above and beyond for patients, families and employees.

A big part of this is the ways that Bronson helps employees with work/life balance. My favorite feature is the free on-site concierge service—it’s the best! They save me HOURS each week by getting groceries and running errands. As a result, I can spend more time with my family—I just love them!

Bronson helped pay the fees for my certification when I became a CNRN. They also do a great job recognizing veterans as well, which, as a Navy veteran, is important to me!

I’m so happy that I chose to work at Bronson.
