The kids are anxiously looking forward to the weeks to come – and so am I!

I am one of the Health Educators in at Bronson South Haven/Bronson Wellness Center. Bronson is partnering with South Haven Public schools and the Michigan Fitness Foundation to provide a new program to all South Haven students in grades K, 2, and 4, called Healthy Schools, Healthy Communities™. The goal of this program is to inspire and encourage children to eat healthier, be more active, handle food safely, get enough sleep and rest, and take an active role in creating a healthier school environment. There are five lessons in the program and each lesson includes a nutrition education activity, a healthy snack tasting, and a physical activity to get kids up and moving called Fit Bits™.  I just finished teaching lesson two of the program and the students at both Lincoln and Maple Grove school give it a “thumbs up.” They are anxiously looking forward to the weeks to come – and so am I!
